A Gift of Hope and Healing – The Cancer Resource Center offers all of its services free of charge to the community. The Center is funded from donations and grants, in-kind donations and volunteer support. Start-up donations were generously contributed by: Community Hospital Auxiliary, Community Hospital Medical Staff, Lake County Medical Staff, NetNitco and Community Hospital. Contributions to the Cancer Resource Center will help patients, their families and friends find the resources and support to cope with the complexities of cancer care. Consider giving a gift of hope – all donations to the Cancer Resource Center are tax-deductible.

A volunteer-driven, nonprofit rescue in Valparaiso, Indiana, dedicated to finding loving homes for abandoned and unwanted dogs throughout Northwest Indiana. Since its founding in 2011, Lakeshore PAWS has helped over 8,200 dogs find their forever families, guided by values of compassion, community, advocacy, and results. With a 98.8% save rate in 2024, they provide medical care, behavioral support, and a second chance to dogs in need.

Valparaiso Creative Council (VCC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting artists, creative professionals, and arts organizations in Valparaiso and Northwest Indiana. Through engaging events, public art, and the McMillan Valpo Creates Center, VCC fosters creativity, builds connections, and strengthens the local cultural scene for people of all ages and abilities.

Indiana Dunes Environmental Learning Center, Inc., now doing business as “Dunes Learning Center,” was established as a regional resource dedicated to residential environmental education. Dunes Learning Center provides a classroom without walls in which students interact directly with the natural environment. The setting provides a unique exposure to a globally significant natural environment and one of the world’s great urban/industrial regions. Students gain new knowledge and understanding about how improving the quality of life is dependent upon our success in sustaining and integrating these two environments.
