Indiana Dunes Environmental Learning Center, Inc., now doing business as “Dunes Learning Center,” was established as a regional resource dedicated to residential environmental education. Dunes Learning Center provides a classroom without walls in which students interact directly with the natural environment. The setting provides a unique exposure to a globally significant natural environment and one of the world’s great urban/industrial regions. Students gain new knowledge and understanding about how improving the quality of life is dependent upon our success in sustaining and integrating these two environments.

TradeWinds provides services for children of all abilities and adults with physical and developmental disabilities including Child Care, Summer & Functional Skills Camps, and Speech & Occupational Therapy; Adult Day Activity Program & Training (ADAPT), Transitional Vocational Training (TVT), Services in Packaging & Assembly and Order Fulfillment, Sewing Manufacturing, Sign Shop, and Employment Services; Residential Group and Supported Living Homes; Respite for Caregivers, Participant Assistance and Care (PAC), Deaf Services; TradeWinds Community Pantry, and a Chicago Lighthouse Low Vision Clinic for residents of Northwest Indiana.

The mission of Porter County Special Olympics is to empower children and adults with intellectual disabilities through year-round sports training, athletic competition, and meaningful experiences that promote physical fitness, courage, confidence, and joy. Through sports, friendship, travel, and competition, we create opportunities for athletes to discover their strengths, share their talents, build lasting relationships, and experience a greater sense of belonging within their families and communities.

Order our featured cocktail in November, and a portion of proceeds will support their mission— give all persons with intellectual disabilities opportunities to be physically fit, enjoy sports of their choosing, experience joy in friendship, travel, and competitions.

Enriching our community by giving second chances to pets and the people who love them. Our animals come to us when their families can no longer care for them, or when they’re lost or abandoned. Many of these animals require veterinary and behavioral attention to be considered adoptable. We provide the best possible care thanks to the generosity of our volunteers and donors. Located in LaPorte County, Indiana, we place pets throughout the region and also work with several specialty rescue organizations across the country.
