We have to admit we fell for a few of the drinks industry’s April Fool’s Day gags this year … and we really wish tomorrow’s threatened US tariffs were among them.Donald Trump set April 2 as the date for reciprocal tariffs on a range of imports that could include wine, beer and spirits.In his first address to a joint session of Congress since returning to the White House, Trump joked about the timing of the tariff imposition and said he was initially planning to enact the tariffs on April 1.However, he decided to delay them by one day to avoid confusion.“And so on April 2, I wanted to make it April 1, but I didn’t want to be accused of April Fool’s Day,” he said.“That’s what that’s not just one day was cost us a lot of money, but we’re going to do it in April. I’m a very superstitious person.”But that’s enough serious stuff. Since the world really needs a laugh right now, here are some actual April Fool’s Day jokes by drinks brands.
